How to disassociate a referrer from a participant

Why should you manually disassociate a referrer?

If you want to make it so that a participant did not get referred by another participant but keep both participants in your campaign.

Important notes

  • Disassociating the referrer will not affect any rewards that were issued prior to disassociation. 

How to manually disassociate a referrer

Step 1: Open the participant detail page and click the More Actions dropdown icon. Then click Disassociate Referrer.

Step 2: A popup window should appear asking you to confirm that you want to disassociate the referrer from the participant. Then click the red Disassociate Referrer button.

Both the referrer and referred friend will remain in your campaign. Any existing rewards will not be affected.

If you have any integrations enabled for your campaign such as Mailchimp or Marketo, both the referrer and referred friend will have their updated data synced.

Participant activity logs for both referrer and referred friend will also show a disassociation event that you may reference for confirmation.
